This painting titled 'Make a joyful noise unto the Lord', taken from Psalm 100 by Billy, shows Peter, Hannah and John in full on 'Rock' Pose and yes they do all play musical instruments. Pete has completed his grade 8 in drums and they all play the piano and other instruments. The teddy bears are getting in on the scene helping with the percussion and PA too to make a joyful noise unto the Lord.

The practice required to play an instrument well and learn music theory is very demanding and requires a lot of input. This is a very great attribute to develop and the gift of music is given to us from God. Genesis 4:22 says 'Zillah also bore Tubal-cain; he was the forger of all instruments of bronze and iron.' The book of Psalms (songs) is the largest in the Bible and King David and Asa are probably the most covered songwriters in history. King David and Asa certainly knew how to Make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Imagine the PRS royalty check owed to them! Jesus tells us to 'sing a new song' repeatedly in Praise of Him and in the last book of the bible, Revelation, is filled with new songs to Jesus. Just awesome, all through the bible we see all of Creation was made to Make a joyful noise unto the Lord.
There is twice as much
LOUD as there is quiet in the bible and 'Make a joyful noise unto the Lord' is a child like (Jesus said to come to him like a child) illustration of Joyful LOUD WORSHIP to the Lord. Have you ever heard a quiet school playground? The only quiet school play ground is an empty one. Much to the consternation of many religious people God does like it loud. God even tells us to do it in this verse, Psalm 100v1, to Make a joyful noise unto the Lord! So go on Make a joyful noise to the Lord and sing LOUD this Sunday, or everyday, in worship to Jesus for his salvation and grace. David did and even danced (EEK!) in 2 Samuel 6 (lots of dancing and singing in the bible to praise God so you don't have to just Make a joyful noise unto the Lord you can boogie too!) and wrote us lots of songs to sing while we Make a joyful noise unto the Lord.
Psalm 150 has very pro drumming and
LOUD words! So go on 'Make a Joyful noise the the Lord' by singing or shouting this Psalm. You would have to over the sound of the 'clashing cymbals'!

Psalm 150
1 Let Everything Praise the Lord Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens!
2 Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness!
3 Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp!
4 Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe!
5 Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!

Below are details showing the detail in the 'Make a joyful noise unto the Lord' painting by Billy. Enjoy.
